Anniversary Hike

With linda's new job, she hast to work weekends which means she is going to be working on our anniversary. So I took two days off of work and we went on a small backpacking trip.

White Pine lake is located about 4 miles north of Tony Grove lake which is about 40 minutes up logan canyon. It was a beautiful hike that was listed as moderate but was actually quite easy. The weather was great! It could have been a little cooler but there was a nice breeze that kept us from melting. It was so much cooler than the vally so we were just happy about that.

The lake was beautiful and clear and the cliffs that surrounded it added to the view. Okay, enough talking, on to the pictures.

Me drinking the fresh filtered water

Me spitting up the filtered water.
Just kidding. it was great. I was actually spitting out the crapy logan water.

Probably one of the first times I've hung a bear bag. Probably didn't need to because there are like two bears in the whole canyon, but with all the bear problems lately we figured its an easy thing to do.

Who says you can't make pancakes with a jetboil? The obviously haven't tried it...

Sure they are small and are really really hard to flip...

But when you forget a pan and a jetboil is all you have, it'll work.

Glamor shot

Utah isn't the only place with bear problems lately.

I wonder though, if we got rid of illegal immigrants, would it lower taxes AND lower our bear problems? Hmmm

Fun with a razor

Man I'm bored today. Its a good thing I had a beard or I may have shave my head again.

First there is the always classy chin strap

Then the hickish goatee

and who could forget the foo-man-shu

and finally the stinkin frenchman

I tried to keep the frenchman but I just couldn't do it. So I ended with the sole patch.

New apartment

Well we started looking for a new place to live so we could get a puppy. There are not very many places that allow dogs but we did find a place that will save us a lot of money. Its pretty dang small but will save us about 150 bucks a month in rent and about 50 buck in heat during the winter.

Here is the front room.

our tiny kitchen

the bedroom, just barely big enough for our cal king

and the hallway that connects the kitchen to the bathroom and bedroom

We are still waiting to hear back but we sure hope we get it.

Hot Hot Heat

Its been way too hot for me this week. Its been in the 90's and its sucking the life out of me. So the other day we found a way to keep cool involving a little kiddie pool and a sprinkler. Oh yeah, and strawberry daiquiris

Great way to start the week!

So Linda calls me at work this morning with some exciting news. She was riding her bike to work and was hit by a car. She is just fine though, no bumps scratches or bruises. But the bike has seen better days.

So I have decided that I need to get in better shape and so I am going to learn capoeira. For those of you who don't know what that is, here are some videos.

Its a major workout and hard to learn but I think it would be freakin awsome to be able to do it. This thing that sucks is that you can't really teach yourself and the closest place that teaches it is in salt lake. So for now I am trying to teach myself the basics by pinting off the steps to moves and watching videos. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well its a new month so I guess its time for a new post.

Linda's first day of work it today and they are having their first presentation tonight on campground critters. Hopefully everything goes great and the lady giving the presentation shows up. We did come up with some back up ideas though just incase she doesn't.

As for me, I watched a movie today and put new brake rotors on the subie. Now she runs like butta. well brakes like butta.

Oh I almost forgot. This week we did have a little fun when at 11pm on wednesday we were awoken (yes we go to be early) by the sound of water dripping from our ceiling into our bathroom. Turns out the tub upstairs has been leaking for quite some time. Long story short, we have a huge hole in our ceiling and someone coming to determine how much water damage there is and all that jazz. Sadly linda has the camera and I can't give you any pictures but I will try and get some up in the next few days.

You know, I feel kinda funny posting something with out any pictures so heres a random picture of a really stupid dog.

The Nalgene

Now the moment you have all been waiting for. So, last saturday we had our ward campout. As with almost all ward campouts there is always someone who brings homemade rootbeer. Leave it up to the elders group to figure out what to do with all the extra dry ice. So about 30 minutes after it got started, we began doing dri ice bombs. We all searched our cars and found as many bottles as we could find. After exploding every bottle the ward had to offer, we still had a little dry ice left and the only bottle we could find was our nalgene.

So to shorten the story, we filled it full and stuffed it into a box. Very shortly after the box got torn to shreads, and the bottle shot up into the air and fell to the ground about 15 seconds later. It was awsome. And the nalgene held up suprisingly well. Although I guess we did finally find a way to destroy a nalgene bottle.

Happy B-day . . . . to me

So these are a little late getting here but it was my birthday last week and I got some sweet gifts. First off, linda gave me some sweet off road lights to put on a rally bar (light bar, nudge bar, gill guard, pick one) however we are still looking for a bar that is in our price range. I also a movie and a cd which is the soundtrack to 'waking ned devine' a hilarious movie which i highly recommend seeing. This movie is like 'stranger than fiction' in that it will change your life forever.

From my parents I got bike racks for the top of the subaru. That work great and what a deal they got on them too. And finally from my inlaws I got a flipin awesome gill tool set with a spatula that is three times lager than any other I've seen and everything else you could need.

So last week we finally got out on our bikes and did some really mountain biking, and here are the pictures. Oh and we also got some helmets for really cheap cuz I flirted with the sales lady. Okay maybe not but they did discount them for us.

So as you can see, it wasn't the nicest day ever but we did get back to the car before the rain and hail hit.

The truck is gone

Saturday was actually a sad say as i watched someone else drive off in my truck. Funny how you can rarely use something but then miss it when its gone.

She sure was a good truck though. I did have to buy something to fill the void in my heart though so I took all my money and bought and imac computer. Sure they cost a lot but i figure if the industry standard for graphic design is macs, then I should get started.

I also learned a little something about html

Even after buying the mac, we had some money left over, and now that we are a vehicle short, we bought mountain bikes. Nice eh?

Well thats about all I've got to say right now so later.

People have way too much time on their hands. But I have to admit that this is pretty funny.
