Things that freak me out

I was reading a friend's blog the other day and he had made a list of things that freak him out. As I was reading it, it got me thinking about what things freaked me out. So here are a few of my 'fears', some rational and some not.

1. Nursing homes! I don't know exactly what it is but I just can't do nursing homes. I've been in many of them, some nice, some run down, but they all freak me out. One of the worst nightmares I have ever had included a nursing home.

2. Not being able to move my legs! I wouldn't say I am totally claustrophobic but if I am in a confined space and I can't move my legs, i start to freak!

3. Socks with toes!! No thank you!

4. Porcelain dolls, clowns and some animals. Especially when they are in a display case. maybe thats why I have never wanted to see any of the Chucky movies.

Well thats about all for now. If I think of anymore good one, I'll let you know.

Time for something new

So i have been trying to think of something to replace tie tuesdays. I finally decided on something worthy of a weekly post, I would like to introduce 'views from a hammock.' A few weeks ago, i bought a hammock for my birthday and set it up in the backyard. As I have been chilling in the backyard the last few days, I have decided to share my experiences with everyone else and help spread the hammock lifestyle and philosophies. Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

The Beach

Well I just have to say that the beach was Awesome! Totally need to do that more. I realized that we didn't take any pictures of the kids, which i regret, but I took plenty of pictures of the rock, so at least we will remember how B-E-A-utiliful it was there. Enjoy.

So we are a little low on food right now and we don't want to go shopping because we will be gone for a weekend so I got a little creative for dinner. I call them potato balls. They consist of marinated shredded chicken in the center with onion and cheese, wrapped in garlic mashed potatoes, rolled in stuffing and bread crumbs topped off with an onion slice and some more cheese. I mixed the extra chicken in with some turkey gravy poured it on a plate and placed the potato balls in the gray. Mmm. Good eatin! Still needs to be perfected so let me know if you have any ideas that would just set it over the top.

amazing feats of amazingness

well today we say goodbye to a long time friend, Tie Tuesday. Probably the worst part about losing my job is that fact that I don't have a job will allow tie tuesdays. So in honor of the great times and ties we have seen, i felt I should so something special. Perhaps a feat of such grandure and featiness, that it would inspire people in such a way, that tie tuesday would in fact continue forever in our hearts.

after minutes of mental preparation I was ready to perform the great feat i would probably ever face in my life. Sure people called me crazy and tried to convince me to change my mind, but i wasn't doing it for them. I was doing it for you, for myself, and most importantly the ties.

After 30 minutes of tying 48 windsor knots, I was ready to begin. With safety crew nearby, I was given the all clear, and I began.

TaDa! 48 ties!! A new WORLD RECORD (i'm assuming, as I'm sure no one else is as dumb or as bored as myself)!

HAPPY TIE TUESDAYS FOR EVER!!!

Spring is here!

Oh wait. I mean not here. Spring is not here. Incase you are confused (its understandable to be so) it IS the 1st of May. Its about 20 degrees and its snowing. Thats right, snowing. I'm starting to understand why the wind blows so much in Idaho, because Utah sucks. Just kidding (but not really).

Happy May 1st!

happy birthday to me!!

Now sure it may be a little early but this weekend I got some sweet birthday gifts. First, we were really bored so we went for a little drive and ended up in park city. We checked out the outlet mall and found a kick butt leather jacket that was marked down from 240 to 99 bucks. We didn't know if we should spend that much so we had the salesman hold on to it for us. About an hour later we went back to get it. Then when he rang it up he told us the total was $67! AWSOME!

Then later that day we were just kicking it at the in-laws when we decided to go to farmington where I got an even sweeter gift, a trampoline! Yeah buddy. So here are a few pictures of my great gifts. It was 36 and snowing outside when I was putting the tramp. together so we will add more pictures later if it warms up.

First hike of 2008

So yesterday, we finally had weather nice enough to take cronus on his first hike. It was about 50 out and we had a clear blue sky. We outfitted cronus with his own camel pack which worked great. The only problem is that he is just a little too skinny. The bag sat straight on his back at first but as soon as he started walking, it worked its way to his left side. It didn't seem to bother him so we just left it. About halfway, however, i tried to switch it to the other side of his body but he couldn't figure out how to shift his weight in that direction so it sent him off to the right, down the hill. So we switched it back and he did just fine. crazy dog. Anywho, here's to a great season, and a thanks to jake for the great bag.

Airplanes

You know, I love traveling by airplane. First you get to hunt around online to find the best deal (which in most cases takes days to months). Then you get to try and pack a butt load of closes into a very small bag so that you don't have to check your bag and then wait with the masses and watch people grab your bag because it looks like theirs.

Then you get to find a ride to the airport because parking cost about as much as the ticket itself, and arrive at least an hour early. Over the next five minutes you'll stand in line between a large man with sweaty pits and a woman with WAY too much perfume while you strip off items of clothing and are poked and prodded.

Then you get to get re-dressed and carry your bag to the very end of the terminal because if you hunted for months for the best price, you are most likely flying southwest. Once you arrive at your terminal, with 45 min to spare, you think, "well at least i can sit down and rest for a little bit." But you would be mistaken because as soon as the plane arrives, everyone stands up and pushes themselves into boarding groups one and two, even though it will take 30 minutes for the current passengers to unload and for the flight attendants (don't call them stewardess or they will duct tape you to the wing) to do a quick clean.

So you find yourself standing in a line once again between the sweaty guy and the stinky lady, waiting to board a plane for a trip your not sure you still want to take.

Finally, they wave you in, and you rush to the emergency exit row so you can enjoy the extra 5 inches of leg room. As you sit back with your set belt on and your tray table in its upright and locked position, with your luggage safely stored in the overhead compartment on under the set in front of you, you prepare yourself for your hopefully short flight.

But before you know it, here comes the very large man with the sweaty pits who squeezes his way into the seat right next to you even though it is not a full flight and there are plenty of available seats. So you quietly open your bag, pull out your laptop and turn it on. You then take a deep breath while looking at the ceiling, close your eyes and then open this site

Spring Cleaning

So this weekend, Linda and I decided to do some serious cleaning. About a week ago we found traces 'crap' from a mouse in one of our drawers. So we pulled everything out and set a trap. Next day we had ourselves a winner. Set another trap and waited two days, and got nothing. So it was time to clean.

Now, you know you have a small house when you can vac every surface in your house from one outlet. yet still it took us two days to clean it all (we have a lot of junk). Anywho, the place is cleaner than its ever been and we love it. I will try and post pictures of it after work.

Deafnote

Have you ever wished you were deaf? Even just for a little bit? You see, I am finally ready to admit that I have a problem. You see first off I cannot stand it when people sing in public. But it drives me even more nuts when the person thinks they can sing but can't. I have a co-worker who is constantly singing random songs and they are off pitch, of rhythm, off beat, off tone, and just plain awful. And its not just that s/he can't sing, but that s/he really thinks they can sing and so s/he belts it out for the whole world to hear. Guess what? You suck and no one wants to hear it! I'm sorry if it seems mean but honestly it is truly painful for me to hear this person sing. I wish they was a way I could have you share in my pain but I don't think anyone should be subjected to that kind of noise. It's not my intention to offend but please, weather you think you can sing or not, just don't do it in public. Especially if you can't sing, just don't do it. If you truly feel you have to sing in the car or at home than fine, but for the love, make sure your alone. That is all I ask.
